NERO,
About 30 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, of stout make and yellowish complexion,

This family history is from Barbara Gaskins. She has been doing research on her family's history and came upon a runaway slave ad placed by the White slaver who owned her ancestor Nero Kornegay, who was her great, great, great grandfather. It is believed that Nero's first wife, Olive was taken from him and either sold, died or killed, and Nero and his son, William, ran away to find her. Below is an image description of the runaway slave ad, as well as information that Barbara Gaskins provided to us in her words.

He has a wife Belonging to Mr. Eubanks, on White Oak, was formerly hired to Samuel Davis of Carteret County, had a wife Belonging to W. Prescott on Hadnot's Creek, and is probably lurking about that neighborhood, Hunter's Creek
or a Bogue Sound, near Mr. Borden's. It is Expected that he is armed, and will attempt to pass as a Free negro.
I hereby forwarn all persons from harbouring, employing, or carrying said negro away, under penalty of the Law.
The above reward will be given to any person who will apprehend and deliver said fellow to me in Jones County, or secure him in Jail so that I get him again.

Below is the family information that Barbara Gskins has found so far.

My great, great, great grandfather's first wife Olive was sold and he and his son William ran away to find her. I'm not sure if she was remarried or sold or died but he remarried Rachael.

Nero and Olive had two children, William and Willie. William is my grandfather's father Sim Kornegay
His next wife was Rachel Jarman they had Henderson, Lidda, Judge, Nero Jr., Lucy, and Golden.

While researching I found that my ancestors, George Kornegay one of the Germans who founded New Bern, NC. His family was murdered by the Tuscororian Indians and so the Kornegay's and other Germans were given land in Duplin County. History is interesting
My great Great Great Father was Nero Kornegay who was owned by George's third-generation branch of Daniel Kornegay...well at least that's where the names began showing but Im still looking for information and trying to piece everything together

Heres the info I found:
