1848 Sale
September 7, 1848 - Abraham Spencer of Granville County conveyed a negro man to Joseph Sims of Franklin County for sum of $1,000[2]

1849 Division of Enslaved
In November 1849, the heirs-at-law of Abraham Spencer petitioned the court for the division of the 34 enslaved in the estate of Abraham Spencer. Abram Spencer, late of Granville County, died intestate in October 1849, leaving Martha B Spencer, his widow, Eliza, the wife of Zebulon M Paschall, Mary, wife of William V Paschall, Alexander F Spencer, and Virginia B Spencer, a minor, as his heirs-at-law.[3]
