Roberts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church School-Chatham County., North Carolina
"This photo is believed to be of children attending the one room Roberts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church School in the late 1890s or early 1900s.

The man on the right in the back row is thought to be Alonzo Tuck, who was a minister.
The early Robert’s Chapel School was attended by the children of Goldston and the Piney Grove area of Chatham County., North Carolina. Later, the walk became too far for those in the Piney Grove area so a school was started there. Ms. Easter Headen was School Master there, and the name of Piney Grove became Union Grove.
This photo was submitted by Goldston native and Lee County retired educator, Mrs. Regina Jenkins Emerson. We thank her for sharing this treasure with us. It will be added to the Chatham County Historical Association permanent digital archive."
