Mose, the son of Nathan Mose, was a drayman, and paid the city $1 a year for an operators license.

For a drayman’s service, people paid 10 cent a loaf or bundle, or 35 cent fare for a ride anywhere in town. Draymen were present for every train and boat arrival.

Mose was also the proprietor of a grocery store and a butcher shop in the 100 block on Gladden Street, but he later moved his business to the corner of Harding and Respess Streets.
