​I'm Carlena Davis, Founder of Spilling the Sweet Tea. As a Southern girl born and raised in Kinston, North Carolina, I've always had a deep love for cooking and sharing recipes. In July 2017, I decided to turn this passion into a food blog where I could "spill the sweet tea" on traditional Southern dishes while also sharing quick and easy meals for busy parents like myself

My culinary journey began in my mother's kitchen. She taught me everything I know about cooking, and those cherished moments inspired me to pass down these traditions to my own daughter. Our family recipes are at the heart of what I do, bringing authentic Eastern North Carolina flavors to kitchens across the country."

In 2020, Carlena launched Miss Lena’s Brand starting with her peach & raspberry preserves, shipping across the United States. Carlena followed up her successful jam launch with her Miss Lena’s Buttermilk and Sweet Potato biscuit mixes and has now expanded the brand to include her signature Miss Lena’s Biscuit bowl.
Carlena currently lives on the East Coast with her husband and daughter, where she spends time in her home kitchen creating new recipes and reimagining classic recipes with a twist!
