Spelman College - These 12 students who in 1969 were members of campus organization, Sisters in Blackness, forged being socially conscious, actively engaged, innately empowered, and unapologetically Black.

This group was founded by 8 students in the class of 1968 to unite and organize around civil rights as the next step to the sit-ins.
