The Five Best Spellers: Winners of a Lively Spelling Battle at Lincoln Institute, (Missouri ) 1921. From the Lincoln Institute Annual, 1921

These five students won their title through one of the liveliest spelling battles that was ever staged in the institute. The first prize of five dollars was given by Mr. Damel of the science department, and the second prize of four dollars and a half was given by Mr. Harley Hunter of the agricultural department.
